A birthday discount can automatically be applied during a contact’s birthday month by setting a percentage in Preferences or assigning a custom amount in the contact profile. The discount may apply to all contacts or only those with individual settings that override the default discount set in Preferences.
Options:
For All Contacts
A discount will automatically be applied to each invoice created during their birthday month by setting the option below.
From the Edit menu, select Preferences, then the Invoice tab.
- From the Discounts section, select Apply Discount During Birthday Month to enable and enter the percentage to be applied in the field.
- Select from one of the options listed in the Birthday drop-down or click ... to create a new type.
- After selecting the desired discount, click OK to save and close Preferences.
For a Specific Contact
A birthday discount can be set or even override the percentage in Preferences for specific contacts.
- Open the contact's profile. From the Utilities group on the profile toolbar, click
Settings to open Profile Settings. - Under the Discounts section, click the Birthdays field and ensure Use Preferences is unchecked.
- Enter a percentage in the Birthday field, then click X to close.
- Click OK to save and close Profile Settings, then Yes to save the contact profile.
