Preferences: Backup tab
Set your backup preferences for manual reminders, automatic backups, and backup file locations from the Backup tab in Preferences.
From the
Options button on the main toolbar, select
Backup Options (or from the Edit menu, select Preferences, then the Backup tab).
Options:
Manual: Specify the number of days before a prompt appears to create a manual backup, found under the File menu.
Automatic: Control whether backups occur automatically or after a prompt when exiting Boulevard, and where backups are stored.
To help prevent data loss due to hardware issues, we recommend automatically saving backups to an external or cloud-based option such as Google Drive.
Option 1: Manual
Boulevard will prompt you to take a manual backup every specified number of days. The default backup file location is under Documents, inside the Boulevard folder. However, the location can be changed when initiating a backup. See Boulevard Default Data & Backup File Location for more information.
Option 2: Automatic
When exiting the software, Boulevard will automatically back up to a location on your hard drive, an external drive, or a cloud-based service (recommended). You can choose whether you are prompted, the number of backups to be stored before the oldest is overwritten, and the backup file location.
There are two options for the automatic method: directly uploading to your Google Drive or Other. If Other is selected but a location is not specified, the backup will be saved in Documents inside the Boulevard folder. Click Reset to Default to reset the current backup location to the default location. To change the location, click the ... button inside the field.
